El Salvador Logistics 2030 Forum
The government of El Salvador, along with the country’s private sector, has organized the “El Salvador Logistics 2030” Forum. Over two days, the forum brought together members of the logistics community to create a climate of trust that would strengthen foreign investment and provide the inputs for a national policy on logistics, transportation, and ports, with the goal of making El Salvador more competitive and more efficiently connected to the world. This initiative is promoted by the Ministry of Public Works, Transport, Housing, and Urban Development (MOP) and the Salvadoran Foundation for Economic and Social Development (FUSADES), with the support of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador (PROESA) and the United Nations System of El Salvador.
Top government officials and national and international experts participated in El Salvador Logistics 2030, which was organized into five discussion panels on the modernization of customs, airports as indispensable links in the logistics value chain, the role of public administration in development politics, the La Unión and Acajutla ports in the context of logistics and global mobility, and the role of free trade zones and extra-portuary areas in the territorial development of the country.
